Mark Mothersbaugh has recently been working on a new creative endeavor, Mutatoy, a line of toys he will design & manufacture in limited editions.

This show was set up to announce the first prototype of Mothersbaugh's "Duo Worm" toy, and featured some brand new prints based on Mark's love of toys in general.

I wasn't able to attend, but my good friend Kristin "She-vo" Edwards, did, and she wrote the report below. Thanks, She-vo...and to everyone who supplied photos!

SUPER-7 "Happy Beauty" Show Report by She-vo:

Super 7 is a Japanese toy collectors heaven! The small store was packed with strange and colorful toys, and was actually quite a fitting backdrop. They had a smoke machine running, and a gorgeous array of complimentary sushi and saki was provided.

Everyone was delighted to see Mark himself  there along with his wife Anita, who both took time to chat with everyone. There were 14 amazing prints on display, but the true star of the show was the 'Mutatoy' prototype on display in an aquarium right in front. This strange and wonderful little guy, called "Duo Worm", was a big hit and was photographed quite a few times.

There was quite a crowd including local spuds and MM art supporters, Jane Stuckey, Paul Shirley, Jack Plotner, and yours truly (She-vo). Everyone enjoyed hangin out with Mark and checking out his amazing new artwork! It was a great show at a great store and it left everyone anxiously awiating the release of the Mutatoy line of products.
