Perihelion Arts Gallery
is located in downtown Phoenix, AZ, and hosted a show featuring Mark Mothersbaugh's Beautiful Mutants prints in 2004. The space has recently been renovated and repaired after an SUV, driven by a drunk driver, plowed through their front doors last year. The overhauled space is larger and more accommodating for opening receptions, and still features a great selection of books, prints, & posters.

Mark wasn't able to attend, as his duties as a new father are overwhelming his time these days. (I don't think he has had a good night's sleep in several months). There were plans to have live video conferencing at the show so that visitors could speak directly to Mark via laptop computer, but technical difficulties kept that from happening this time. We will attempt live video conferencing at future shows if Mark can't attend.

Among those who attended the reception was young Daniel Bergman, who showed up at both Mark's 2004 show and the current show wearing devil horns. Also in attendance: Thaddeus and Alana (of anticonformityusa.com), performance artist Ryan Avery (complete with fake moustache), and Kenneth Richardson & Mike Goodwin, aka The Molten Brothers, who are putting together a skateboard art show in 2006 featuring Mark Mothersbaugh's art.

New T-shirts designed by Mark Mothersbaugh and manufactured by RVCA Clothing made their debut at the Perihelion reception, and will be available at Mark's future shows in 2006. See images of the new shirts here.

Thanks to Amy & Doug of Perihelion Arts and Thaddeus & Alana for making my trip to Phoenix so enjoyable. Hope to see you all again soon.

The show will be up for the entire month of March, so stop by Perihelion Arts if you're near the Phoenix area.

Till next time,
