Mystery City Gallery is relatively new to the Chicago area, and provides a retail outlet for limited edition toys and art.

This gallery & designer toy boutique is run by the people who ran Oklahoma's Chindogu Gallery, where Mark showed his Postcard Diary prints in 2003.

Mark Mothersbaugh couldn't attend due to DEVO rehearsals in Los Angeles (DEVO was on tour this year), but there was still a very nice turn out for the reception. The event was catered beautifully by Michael Proskin/Catered Productions, and everyone was delighted with the fantastic selection of food & drink. The attention to detail was amazing. Thanks, Michael!

BTW: Michael brought his son to the reception, a young DEVO fan, who decided to show his appreciation by dressing up as Jihad Jerry (Solo project of DEVO's Gerald V. Casale)!

One of my favorite people in the world, Cynthia Plaster Caster, showed up early before she attended Beck's concert that night, and returned to the gallery after the concert....with reports on how great Beck's live show was.

Thanks to my good friend Jessica DeNardo for making my stay in Chicago entertaining & comfortable, and for helping out at the show. Great to see my other friends from the Chicago area, too - Scott Orsi, Vince Osborn, and Darren Hacker - Thanks for taking the time to see Mark's art at Mystery City.

Photographer Matthias St. John brought his fabulous camera to the reception, and provided many of the pictures featured on this report. Much appreciated, Matthias.

After the reception, a few of us went out to Club Foot and saw this vintage autographed relic displayed on the wall.

Visit Mystery City if you're in the Chicago area! Great stuff there.
