LUMP Gallery played a major role in starting me on the road to managing Mark Mothersbaugh's visual art tours.

I've known the guys at LUMP since they came to NC from SF in the late 90's, and I booked my first Mothersbaugh show for Mark at LUMP back in 2002. It was a one-off show, inspired by the fact that Mark hadn't had a solo show in some time. I knew both Mark and the gallery could benefit from it, so it seemed like a great idea to all involved.

After the success of that show, Mark invited me to book a year full of shows in 2003, and the tours have continued since then. Bill Thelen at LUMP gave me my first list of galleries to contact for booking the 2003 tour. Thanks, Bill!

Mark was unable to fly from Los Angeles to attend this reception, but the Raleigh art crowd still packed the gallery to see his Postcard Diary prints.

21 Postcard Diary prints were featured in the show, and were pulled from Mark's print archives spanning the last few years.

Some notable faces at the reception: DJ Roxxi Dott, Skip Elsheimer of A/V Geeks, Southern Culuture On The Skids drummer Dave Hartman, Muralist Kenbro Braak of Kenbroart.com, and Bill & Barbara Mooney of Raleigh's Tannis Root/Kung-Fu (who've printed T-shirts for Mark Mothersbaugh's art tours and DEVO for years).

Thanks to Bill Thelen and Med Byrd at LUMP Gallery for another great show, and to DJ Roxxi Dott for helping me with merchandise at the opening reception. Much appreciated!
